The 30 Seconds to Mars Biography is such an stimulating read. When Jared Leto and his brother Shannon started the band 30 Seconds to Mars, little did he recognise that this little family crusade would become a world widely known and esteemed band. This band was formed in 1998 and later had Matt Wachter joining as a keyboard player and bassist. They had numerous teething difficultnesses in choosing the lead guitarists since in the beginning Solon Bixler and Kevin Drake left over a good deal of touring issues. Later Tomo Milicevic was finalized as the lead guitarist.
Many persons wondered regarding the name of the band “30 Seconds to Mars” and found it rather puzzling. This was cleared in an consultation by the band members when they revealed that their name has been inspired by a Harvard thesis titled “30 Seconds to Mars”. This thesis described the advent and the rapid growth of engineering science and said that we are merely 30 seconds from Mars in terms of technology rather than the measured light years. According to the band members, their music is also also rather innovative and divergence and accordingly the name was chosen.
An interesting fact in regards to the band is that the band never sought to advertize or even count on Jared Leto (who was a Hollywood actor in his own right) to advertize themselves. On the contrary, the band pointedly did not play at places where people tried to capitalize on Jared Letto’s fame rather of the band’s songs and talents.
The band freed it is introductory self titled album in 2002 which was developed by Bob Ezrin. This album got mixed reviews and the sale numbers hit somewhat above 100,000.
However, this did not deter the spirit of the band and then freed their second album on August 30, 2005 which was titled “A Beautiful Lie”. Learnings from their past made the band tour respective continents including five dissimilar countries in an venture to achieve perfection in their album. This time the band also permitted Jared to pursue his film career alongside. The producer of this album was Josh Abraham who has invented other albums like Velvet Revolver, Linkin Park and Orgy.
A Beautiful Lie was leaked five months prior to it is release which forced the band to include a couple of more bonus numbers like “Hunter” and “Battle of One”. Since they were leaving no loopholes in encouraging their album, they also included the “golden tickets” in 12 of those album copies which granted the winners a free seat and a chance to meet the 30 Seconds to Mars band back stage.
The band was nominated for two awards at the MTV awards. They won the award for their album “The Kill”; notwithstanding they lost out to AFI’s Miss Murder for the best rock video. A Beautiful lie achieved platinum status in January since it sold a record 1000,000 albums!
The band has played galore numbers and is a hit with the young and the old. The bassist Matt Watcher left the band in 2007 and was substituted by Tim Kelleher (not the well known actor).

The band has not long back declared an upcoming concert tour which will be on soon!
